spent most of my day working on homework and doing research at the library.

i have a research paper due this week on paula winokur, an amazing artist who works with porcelain.  the work shown above is entitled "global warnings" and is a collection of (mostly) unglazed spheres with facts about global warming written on them.

today is indeed yoga day USA :)

roommates and i woke up early and went to a local yoga class - had a great experience and feel much more relaxed!

the rest of the day consists of homework, glee (!), and dueling pianos event tonight...

planning to do yoga at least once a week - maybe i'll finally be unstressed!

didn't do too much today - fridays are my day off from class, so i ran some errands and went shopping with my roommates.

i bought this book at barnes & noble :)

drove back to campus for the hurst feud event, then spent some quality roommate time in the apartment :)

met with my fellow TOMS campus reps to celebrate our recognition (!!!) and start planning for the rest of the year :)

i'm really excited about starting the club on campus and getting the word out about TOMS shoes and their amazing work!

also looking into community outreach and some music events =D

i made hors d'oeuvres tonight :)

besides that, pretty much just realized how much work i have to do before the term ends at the end of february...

3 ceramics projects, countless meetings, class registration, 3 major papers, 1 presentation, 1 final project (10 pages minimum), preparing for my internship...woah.

on the bright side, i got some really great ideas in the shower tonight ;)

today was rather productive :)

i met with my advisor to schedule classes, finally finished my ceramic shoe project, and figured out how to work my slide & negative scanner, which explains today's photo.

the picure is one of my favorite i've ever taken - it is a color slide, taken at a playground, for my photography class last spring.

why is it my favorite? because it's primary colors and reminds me of being young :)

the above quote is possibly one of the greatest things ever said.  i wish more people would think like that.

today was martin luther king, jr. day, as you all know.

we didn't have classes today, which made me think - i'm pretty sure martin luther king, jr. wouldn't want us sitting around doing nothing.  i'm pretty sure he would want us to be out making a difference :)

although i've been having some issues in my life, i took some time today to think about the things that really matter in life - and how much i truly want to make a difference in the world.

actually got a lot of work done today despite not going to sleep until 6:30am - haha.

wrote an article, went grocery shopping, wrote a paper and started another one...good stuff!

i also made myself a fantastic dinner complete with a garden salad, chicken alfredo with vegetables, strawberries & cool whip, and cookies-n-cream frozen yogurt.  yum yum yum.

today i spent 4 straight hours in the ceramics studio (still not even close to finished, by the way...), worked on some homework, then went to the erie otters game with sac (seats on the glass!)

once we got back, i hung out with some friends for a few hours and watched a few movies.  in short, i finally took some time to relax :)

so, i got this slide & negative scanner for christmas and was SUPER pumped to try it out.  had some free time today, so i decided to start cataloging all of my photo class work.

much to my dismay, it refuses to work :(

so, i packed it back up out of anger and put it in the corner...haha...because apparently inanimate objects need time-out too.

went to the womens' hockey game, then comedian...

have the apartment to myself this weekend, which could be good or bad.

so today was boring, yet stressful...haha.

worked on my next ceramics project for a bit, went to work, then had class and an art therapy club meeting.

the student art show gallery opening was tonight, though - pretty exciting this year because i had a piece accepted into it :)

 today i decided i hate when reality hits.  the schedules are out for spring term and they are awful :(

every time the new term classes come out, it's always followed by tears, yelling, and lots of discussion and papers needing to be signed, a.k.a. it's responsibility time - and college students don't like that R word.

claass schedule time is also the time when i like to reach for my trusty pink sippy cup.  a little reminder of childhood never hurt anyone, right? ;)

today was a rough day.  didn't really sleep last night, because i had so much work to do.  woke up super early to start on the insane day schedule.

unfortunately had some less than satisfactory events unfold today too...

however, tonight my friend rachel gave us our christmas gifts.  she glass-etched mirrors for us!  mine is pictured above and says "i am proud of you xoxo."

needless to say, it made me feel a whole lot better :)

today was an extremely stressful day :(

i had to get my coil pot critiqued and my show (next project) approved in ceramics class, then headed back to my apartment to make a powerpoint for my night class...spent 3 hours at the library trying to do research for my history class, but found out that EVERY SINGLE book i needed was already taken out.  presented in my night class, then came back to my apartment and made the above list.

needless to say, i'm pulling an all-nighter tonight :) (supplies above.)

spent about 6 hours in the ceramics studio today - (mostly) finished coil pot pictures above :)  the object of the project was to create two opposite coil pots, one organic and one geometric, that are joined at one or more points.

i'm actually pretty excited with how it came out!

besides that, we had our roommate christmas gift exchange tonight - i know, just a little bit late ;)

tonight was our first coffeehouse event of 2010 :)

pretty much ran around all day...drove in the crappy snow, learned how to run our new sound equipment, and set up everything for the event...

we had a great acoustic duo, ryanhood, who put on an awesome show!  we had over 100 people come out, so it was amazing :)

pictures today are the promo posters and free mugs we had made for the coffeehouse series - they list the dates and acts for the rest of the year :)

i didn't really do much today - just had an office hour and class, then went back to the apartment for some much needed relaxation time :)

the roomies and i stayed in tonight and watched the BCS national championship game between texas and alabama.   we took the injury of colt mccoy (above) pretty hard because we love him. 

also, alabama didn't deserve to win because they are cocky and play dirty :(

i decided to venture out and clean off my car today after pretty much 3 days of nonstop snow.  as you can see, my school thinks plowing the parking lots is unnecessary :)

also, for those of you wondering, erie is expecting at least another foot of snow by friday. no wonder why i question my decision to go here every winter ;)

today started off on a high point, when i received the 2010 stephen kellogg & the sixers calendar :) 

for those of you who don't know, sk6ers are by far my favorite band in the entire world and i love them to pieces.  therefore, the addition of this calendar to my life is fantastic.

unfortunately, my day went downhill from there :(

as of this morning, i am currently on medications for nasal congestion, raw sore throat & dry cough, and i also developed an ear infection, which takes me back to the grand old time when i used to get them ALL THE TIME.

anyways, i'm dealing - and having sk6ers on the wall is its own kind of medicine :)

my roommates and i spent the majority of our day watching the entire first season of glee.  i love this show with a passion and am also deeply in love with the characters of finn and artie :)
